Carrot Creation Releases "Maruppacha"
Kerala based animation studio Carrot Creations recently released its first animation feature, a 45 min Malayalam 2D/3D animation film title ‘Maruppacha’ on VCD. The first copy of the feature was handed over to actor Jamsheer on October 29th at a press conference, while the VCDs marketed by Dharam Dhara are priced at INR 60 and will be available in the market from November 15th 2009.
Directed by Rasak Vazhiyoram and produced at a budget of INR 3 lakhs, the feature took around 8 months for completion. The core team of Carrot Creation includes Director Rasak Vazhiyoram, character designer Ameen Vengara and animators Abdul Basith & Yasar Arafat.
Speaking to medias, Carrot Creations Director Rasak Vazhiyoram said “Maruppacha is based on Hadith stories. Hadith is the literature which consists of the narrations of the life of the Prophet and the things approved by him. These collections are used as a supplement to the Koran to help interpret Islam. Although Hadith is a Muslim literature, it reflects the good teachings that are useful for children of every religion. Maruppacha is a humble effort from us to spread the word.”
The voice over has been done by Shabeer, Abdulla, Mani, Shamsu Mysoor and Sahla. The producer of the animation film is Salam Kodiyathur. The film narrates morals to the youngsters by using parables from Hadith folklores. Maruppacha tells its audience to follow only truth.
Rasak Vazhiyoram has directed various genres of animation films for children including comedy and moral values. His animation film portfolio includes Chundukkurukkan and a 1 hour film Kuttatti, a 2D animated cartoon film with six songs

Escapades of a fox

All of you must be enjoying watching cartoon films that centre round nature, animals, forests, the rain and all that goes to make this world a really wonderful and beautiful place to live in.
Many popular tales for children are now being showcased through animation films so that they remain etched in memory for long.
The fox has been a favourite character of many of these stories. ‘The fox and the grapes’, and ‘The fox and the crow’ are among the many popular stories children love to hear time and again.
These age-old tales always stayed fresh, and inspire the imagination of the young.
Of late many of these stories find a slot in animation or cartoon movies creating a pleasant visual impact on the viewer.
‘Chundukkurukkan’ is one such animation film which all of you would love to watch. It is all about the escapades of the hero who is a cunning fox.
Racy style
‘Chundukurukkan’ is an enjoyable 40-minute animation film showcased in a breezy style by Razak Vazhiyoram with the script written by Salam Kodiyathur and Ameen Vengara as the animation director.
The cartoon film sends across the message of peaceful co-existence with nature and all living beings while at the same time weaving an enjoyable tale round the fox that thinks of ways and means to out wit the animals in the large forest.
Chundukurukkan has many friends but is all the time thinking up strategies to overpower possible prey. First it is the pair of goats, Kuttan and Muttan, which he encounters. Then it is the rabbit, and the old monkey all of who cleverly manage to get out of his way.
Finally the cunning fox encounters the kings of the forest themselves, the tiger and the lion.
The director weaves a story that keeps the viewer engrossed all along.
Mr. Razak, says, a majority of animation films are produced abroad and it was to overcome this lacunae that ‘Chundukurukkan’ with dialogue in Malayalam was made with a view to striking a chord with children here. The objective was also to provide occasion for laughter along with the message of camaraderie the animation film sought to convey.
